Hey everyone! It’s been a minute since I have written a blog, so here is an update on my life!

As I’m writing this, we are 4 weeks in and less than 2 weeks to go in Japan. It's crazy how fast it’s going, yet it feels like we just got here. I have been so grateful for the opportunities to meet so many people and be friends with them. One time I went up to a lady who was sitting in the park and started a conversation about the book she was reading, and from there we got to talking about our lives, and I was able to tell her I was a Christian missionary here for 41 days. And even though I didn’t physically talk about the gospel with her, I know the Lord will use that conversation either way. A way the Lord has been teaching me is that He doesn’t need us to minister, yet He still decides to use us. What a beautiful thing that He does is use us, imperfect people, to do the same to relate and show His goodness!

I want to go more in depth on how our ministry has been happening these past 3 weeks.

On Mondays we have sabbath. Last week it was changed around because of a typhoon that hit us. A typhoon, by the way, is just lots of rain and wind. Anyways so that day we all were inside resting and watching some movies!

Tuesday: we went to a nursing home. The week before, we sang hymns. That week we got to sing and color with them, which was super sweet. I connected with these two ladies, and even though we had a language gap, we still had super good conversations. One was showing me a picture of her late husband and was saying how sweet he was. One thing in Japan for ministry is to build trust, then share the Gospel, as you would do with a friend back home. So I can’t wait to go back there!

Wednesday was an adventure day, and I spent that hiking up a mountain in the rain. But it was so worth the 2-hour train ride. Hiking in Japan kind of reminded me of some national parks in the US. We didn’t see any wildlife, but there were so many signs about monkeys around the area. When we got to the top of the mountain, we couldn’t see anything because of the rain, but it was still so pretty. (We saw what we could)

Thursday, we drove an hour to our host families other church and street evangelized there. It’s close to a college, so there are a lot of young people. But super pretty houses and parks. The Lord has been working through us in that area, and we have seen many breakthroughs.

Friday is our sports ministry day. We go to a park that’s less than a 10-minute walk from the church.  We bring a basketball, volleyball, and a kickball. And there has been so much fruit that’s being produced! We have made friendships with so many people! Please pray that when we share the Gospel, their hearts will be open and there will be breakthrough in their life!!

Saturday is another street evangelizing day, but this past week looked a little bit different because of a conference our host was having. They were celebrating 3 years of opening their church! That was a good weekend, and on Sunday we were basically in church for 6 1/2 hours, which praise the Lord. I wouldn’t want to spend my time anywhere else.

Since we only have two weeks left, I am trying to steward my time well. I want every conversation to have a connection that will last even when I leave. So far, Japan has been an amazing country to start, and I can’t wait for the others!

What you can pray for: For people to be open to the Gospel and that when we speak, the Lord will be evident! One main stronghold in Japan is suicide. People struggle in the silence. With the culture here, it’s an honorable to take your life. Please pray the Lord will reveal Himself to them.

A fundraising update: I am at 41%, which is so amazing! Thank you to everyone for donating and coming along side me through this Journey. One of my biggest goals right now is to reach 50% of my fundraising goal by October 15th.
